Arthritis. just the name conjurs up fear in the hearts of those of us growing older. We all know someone that is suffering from one of the many forms of arthritis, over 100 actually. Each differs some from the others, but as a general rule it’s fair to say that arthritis is a form of inflammation of the joints. Part of a joint can become inflamed, or swollen, and this causes pain and limitation on free movement of the joint.

One of the principal causes of arthritis is nutritional problems, as well as stresses on the joints over time by, for example, repeated similar movement. Workers who have had a manual job requiring repeated movement like lifting can also suffer arthritis that is caused in this way.

Arthritis pain is caused by inflammation in the joints. Some scientists believe that inflammation as we age is one of the prime, if not the prime cause of many of the age related diseases we suffer from over time. Inflammation can cause the formation of chemicals in our bodies and these can eat away at many of our body parts, including parts of our joints.

Why would you want to take Omega 3 for arthritis relief? Why does it work? Because among other reasons, Omega 3 fats are extremely effective in combating inflammation, including inflammation in the joints.

Omega-3’s are the “back-bone” of our cell membranes. In fact, it is an essential nutrient that is responsible for signaling pathways and neurological systems in the body. Everyone with a pulse, including our pets can benefit from this nutrient.

There are over 30 years of research and studies showing the benefits that Omega-3 has on a multitude of Illnesses including Arthritis. Many theories to Aging and disease lead to chronic inflammation. Some of the diseases that are related to inflammation and the aging process are: Arthritis; both Rheumatoid and Osteoarthritis, Alzheimer’s, Cancer, Dementia, , Parkinson’s disease, Hypertension, Asthma, Diabetes, Cataracts, Stroke, Osteoporosis, Inflamed Bowel, Ulcerative Colitis, Psoriasis, plus many more. Omega-3 fatty acids are very important due to their linkage to a reduction of the inflammation process.

The polyunsaturated fats EPA and DHA, found in Fish Oil and now a new polyunsaturated fat called ETA found exclusively from New Zealand green lipped mussels. have been shown by much research to be extremely beneficial to our health in a whole range of ways. Now science is showing a link between Omega 3 ‘s and rheumatoid arthritis and other forms of arthritis. And that increasing our intake of Omega 3’s can reduce symptoms and pain from arthritis.

So if you’re suffering from arthritis and don’t want to be at risk of serious side effects from taking anti-arthritic drugs, look at using a Omega 3 supplement from either fish oil or even better a green lipped mussel oil source. Arthritis isn’t a life sentence, and you should be on your feet again after making arthritis a thing of the past.
